Webinar Recap - Selling Safety to Older Adults: Try This Instead

  This webinar focused on promoting older adult falls prevention, highlighting the importance of tailored messaging and trusted resources. Peg Paul introduced new free resources from Vision 20/20 developed with Marketing for Change, emphasizing the need for effective communication and understanding the target audience's motivations and barriers. Key findings included the importance of tone, trusted sources like the fire service, insurance companies and AARP, and the need to avoid patronizing language. Dr. Nathan Estrada stressed the significance of addressing ageism and sexism in research, using positive intent, and offering actionable options.   1) Plain Language Training.  In case you missed it, here is a link to Accessible Communication Plain Language Training,  https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=bWUbKpC7Toc   It is only 35 minutes and serves as a great reminder of ways to ensure messages are reaching all audiences!! 2)  Public Information Basics.  We have a couple offerings of the Public Information Basics course coming up. The class next week is full, the one is Gilbert (Sept 9-11) has openings and we expect one will be added Oct 22-24 in Prescott (not in the system yet). See the attached training document for the details.   3) PIO networking.   Some extra love today for the regional PIO meetings and those that coordinate them.
