 Home Safety Project Participant

Windsor Severance Fire Rescue (WSFR), through a collaboration with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has received a grant that enables WSFR to provide FREE 10-Year Worry Free Hardwired & Interconnected Smoke and Dual Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms for replacement and installation as long as supplies last.

Through the FEMA grant our project focuses on WSFR residents age 65 and older with expired and/or chirping alarms. WSFR will provide a Home Safety Visit to inspect your current alarms as well as teach about basic home safety and register participants for Community Connect. Community Connect allows residents to create a household profile for WSFR to use in case of an emergency.

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms expire after a certain amount of time and changing the batteries in alarms every 6 months can be troublesome for adults as they age. By installing 10-year Worry Free alarms it will eliminate the need to change batteries for the entire life of the alarm which will help our residents live more safely in their homes.

Working smoke alarms save lives. Please sign up below to participate in WSFR's Home Safety Project and a member of the Life Safety Division will contact you to set up a time to come out to your home.
